The Weekly Agenda
Message of the Moment
Happy Monday ,
Every September, the seasons seem to wrestle with one another. One morning we’re pulling on a sweatshirt and sipping something warm, and the next afternoon we’re wondering if we should dig out the sunscreen. This week’s mini heat wave has been a perfect example — summer still has a little spark left in it, even as fall waits patiently on the doorstep.
These in-between days are some of my favorites. The evenings glow a little differently, kids are back in their school routines, and yet the hum of cicadas and the smell of freshly cut grass remind us that summer isn’t ready to bow out just yet. It’s a fleeting moment — a pause between chapters — and one that always makes me stop and take stock.
That tug-of-war between warm breezes and crisp mornings feels like life’s way of reminding us that change is constant. Just when we settle into one rhythm, another one begins. In real estate, it’s much the same — the market shifts, interest rates adjust, and opportunities look different depending on when you choose to step in.
In the news lately, there’s been growing consensus among economists, analysts, and market watchers that a Fed rate cut is underway. Several reports show that weakening job growth, downward revisions to recent employment data, and cooling inflation pressures are tipping the scales toward easing monetary policy.
So, while we’re enjoying this last brush of summer warmth, it’s also the perfect time to look at the changes on the horizon. Just as the seasons are turning, the financial landscape is shifting too — especially when it comes to mortgage rates.
Lastly…
And if you like staying connected beyond the inbox, follow along on Instagram and YouTube. That’s where I share quick updates, market insights, and a closer look at what’s happening day-to-day. It’s a fun way to stay in the loop — and who doesn’t need more real estate wisdom between recipe videos and reels of people falling?

The Market Report
Lake County real estate continues to favor sellers across the board. Detached homes are commanding strong prices and moving quickly, while attached properties are even swifter to market, often going under contract in just over a month. The luxury segment remains resilient, with high-end homes continuing to attract buyers in less than two months on average. With supply still limited and demand holding steady, the market rewards well-presented homes and strategic positioning.

The Spotlight
The Spotlight is our way of featuring the local businesses, places, and people that make Lake County stand out. If you’re looking for a trusted referral, this is a great place to start. And if you have a favorite spot or service you think deserves to be highlighted, share it with me—I’d love to include your recommendations in a future edition.
If you haven’t stopped by Hansa Coffee Roasters yet, you’re missing out on something special. Locally roasted, specialty-grade beans, thoughtfully curated blends, and a passion for flavor make them more than just your neighborhood coffee shop — it’s an experience.
They source fine single-origin coffees and master-blended varieties that appeal to casual coffee drinkers and espresso aficionados alike. Whether you’re grabbing a morning brew, looking for loose-leaf tea, or treating yourself to a bag of beans to enjoy at home, Hansa delivers both consistency and quality.
Plus, great news for folks in the area: Hansa’s Lake Bluff cafe recently moved into the Historic Village Market at 24 E. Scranton, making their warm atmosphere and delicious drinks even more accessible. Their Libertyville location continues serving early risers through to evening, and they also offer full wholesale services — so offices, churches, or businesses can share in the quality.
Need a pick-me-up or somewhere to settle in with your laptop? Hansa Coffee Roasters is well worth the visit.
